Kiawah Golf Club

Home to two courses as well as a golf academy the Kiawah Golf club has much to offer.  In addition to its courses the Club has a full-service spa and club cottages, as well as offering tennis all year long to its membership owners.  Its two courses are:

Cassique:  Named after the famous Indian Chief who was an important part of Kiawah Island’s history, the course takes the golfer through a variety of natural delights.   Marshy lands, maritime forests and old agricultural fields are a wonderful way to not only play golf but experience the island the way its former inhabitants once did. Tom Watson, five-time British Open champion, designed the 72 –par course as his first endeavor in North America.  Like the courses in Ireland and Scotland where he often played, Watson created a wonderful adaption of those courses with consideration for the ocean winds that are a part of any game on Kiawah Island.

The River Course:  When it opened in 1995 the Tom-Fazio designed course immediately started to win its many accolades including Golf Digest’s five new private courses of that year.  The beauty of the course is inherent with every hole that was once the first English settlement on Kiawah Island in the 18th century.  Golfers from around the world have enjoyed its beauty and elements of difficulty that make the River Course a must for new visitors and old friends alike.
