Kiawah Island Resort

Kiawah Island, SC > Kiawah Island Resort

Golf. Ocean. Shopping. Luxury.  If any of those words aren't appealing, you may not want to read further.  When it comes to luxurious living on the ocean coupled with golfing and shopping, the Kiawah Island Resort is arguably the best place to do so in the Southeast.  Responsible for making dreams come true year after year, travelers from near and far rave about all of the amazing amenities that the resort offers, the same treats and delights that keep them coming back.  Of course, several of these are available to island residents and other visitors as well, making the resort one of the focal points on Kiawah Island that deserves a trip all by itself.

GOLF
No matter the season - spring, summer, winter, or fall - the golf courses of Kiawah Island are an ideal way to spend an afternoon in the fun.  Whether you are a seasoned pro who would like to improve his game or a beginner who wants to learn the basics, you can benefit from personalized instruction from one of our golf pros.

The Tommy Cuthbert Golf Learning Center is a state-of-the-art teaching facility, staffed by twelve golf professionals and seven apprentices.  Improve your swing with video instruction technology, make sure you have the correct clubs for your body and build, and a private area for teaching and practicing make this the ideal place for anyone passionate about golf. Out on the greens you can request a knowledgeable caddie who will provide you with insider tips on your game and the playing course.

Cougar Point: Recently given the distinction of "Golf Course of the Year" by the South Carolina Golf Course Association, views of the Kiawah River and scenic challenges are just two of the reasons why golfers prefer to play here. Ask the locals and they will tell you about the ninth hole that offers the most magnificent view of the river that will take your mind away (for just a moment!) from your favorite game.

Oak Point: Given 4.5 stars by readers of Golf Digest magazine Oak Point aims to please even the pickiest player.  Step onto its lush greens and take in the breathtaking views of the Haulover Creek and Kiawah River, they are absolutely phenomenal.  There are few places in the Southeast where the golfer gets to play in the native environment so beautifully.

Ocean Course: Arguably the pride and joy of Kiawah, the Ocean Course will be the host of the 2012 PGA Championships.  Not a simple course for the beginning golfer, it can experience high ranges in wind strength from hole to hole in addition to its carefully constructed layout that includes a higher degree of technicality from the golfer.  With the most seaside holes in the northern hemisphere the Ocean Course is a dream for those who love the water and hitting the
greens.

Osprey Point: This course takes the golfer on a tour of the natural wonderland that is Kiawah Island.  Thick maritime forests intermingle with the edges of marshlands, which themselves are just a short drive away from four large lakes by golf cart.  Get a true feel for the island while playing this course of varying difficulty.

Turtle Point: Designed by the great Jack Nicklaus himself, this award-winning course is an absolute dream to play on.  Small greens and narrow fairways add to the intrigue that is Turtle Point; yet this isn't an easy course, Nicklaus had a few tricks up his sleeve when designing it, so enjoy the higher degree of difficulty that it may bring even the more experienced golfer.
