Jeff is the former general manager of both Kiawah Island Resort and Wild Dunes Resort, a 19 year resident of Charleston, and the founding partner of both Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals and The Key Partners. Grounded by Jeff’s background and network of contacts gleaned from his work with resort properties and involvement in the Charleston community, the dynamic group of individuals he has brought together is making all the difference for area residents looking to invest in, purchase or sell their fine coastal properties. He has become an incredible expert in the unique communities and lifestyle of the Charleston area and loves sharing that knowledge with customers.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Jeff’s family moved to Michigan when he was six.  Graduating from Albion College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Jeff moved to Colorado, partly to pursue his passion for snow skiing, and partly to pursue a business opportunity in the resort industry.  Eventually, Jeff accepted a position in Charleston, where he found the perfect place to call home. His accomplishments in Charleston include guiding the rebuilding efforts of Wild Dunes Resort post Hurricane Hugo and managing the large resort operations for Kiawah Island from 1996 to 2003.

In Charleston, Jeff found a thriving community, beautiful beaches and a quality of life that was invigorating.  “It’s a beautiful, historic and well preserved city surrounded by unbelievable beaches in all directions,” Jeff explains.

It’s been over 19 years since he made the move and Jeff has never looked back. On any given weekend you are just as likely to see Jeff, his wife Laurie and their children walking the streets of Charleston as you are playing on Kiawah’s beach.  But then again, tomorrow might be a beach day….
