- Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals Agent -

A graduate of Middlebury College and the United States Navy Kimber got his Pennsylvania real estate sales license in 1972 and his Broker’s license in 1975. For the next twelve years he managed real estate offices in Suburban Philadelphia. During this time he also taught real estate courses for various schools and colleges including Penn State University, Rosemont and Immaculata Colleges. In 1988 he started the Real Estate Career School which he ran for three years before having to close due to the conditions of the real estate market. In 1996 he started Tech Track, Inc. a company selling Top Producer software, lap top computers and training. This culminated in a contract with IBM to supply training and support for the Astra-Zeneca sales staff.
In 2001 Kimber moved onto a 37’ sailboat and started commuting between Portland, ME in the summer and Johns Island in the winter. A near disastrous fire put a stop to that and he lived on his boat at Bohicket Marina until he met his new wife Sherry, bought a house and moved ashore in 2005.
He received his South Carolina real estate sales license in 2004 and his brokers in 2008. He and his wife are currently working for Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals LLC, specializing in high end real estate sales in Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns Islands. Kimber also works with Fortune Academy teaching real estate pre-license, post license, brokers and continuing Education courses.
He is a member of the Kiawah Seabrook Exchange Club, co-chair of the trip planning committee of the Seabrook Island Natural History Group, volunteers for the Historic Charleston Foundation and is a member of the Seabrook Island Club.
