Peter has had an eclectic career, spanning commercial farming, private school administration, and running one of America’s top 100 golf courses, Sand Ridge, a Tom Fazio gem located outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Peter is currently occupied with managing three homes on Kiawah Island, as well as being the ‘silent partner’ in the Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals team.

Peter’s endeavors are highlighted by his skill in building and growing teams of highly productive, highly focused individuals. He loves the entrepreneurial challenge of taking a vision and making it a reality – whether it is a business, a school, or a golf course. In the AET team he sees an opportunity to be part of a significant player in the fast-growing field of Charleston area real estate.
Raised in the Midwest, Peter and his family moved to Australia in the 1960’s. Returning to the states for college, Peter is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he met his wife, Mary. Peter and Mary operated a commercial poultry farm in Vermont for seven years until a teaching opportunity led them to a series of private school opportunities that spanned the following 20 years. They first fell in love with the Charleston area when Peter was Headmaster of Christ School in Asheville, North Carolina in the 1980s.
 
Peter and Mary have two beautiful daughters, Katie, and Susannah, both of whom share their parent’s love for sun, surf and the Charleston area.
