Sherry McFarlane-Smith is a graduate of the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA and has a degree in Broadcasting and Communications from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. She retired from a career in first Radio and then Television Broadcasting and moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where she lived for 7 ½ years. She was actively involved in Community Service projects as well as leading group tours of Seniors throughout Mexico. She moved to Johns Island 4 years ago and began her new career in the Real Estate field where she partners with her husband, Kimber Smith, who has over 30 years of real estate experience.  Sherry is Co-President of the Seabrook Island Garden Club, on the trip planning committee of the Seabrook Island Natural History Group and also volunteers for the Historic Charleston Foundation for both the Antique Show and Garden Tours.  She is a member of the Seabrook Island Club and attends Bible Study on Kiawah Island.  Previously she has been a Rotarian, served on the boards of the San Miguel de Allende Garden Club, and on the vestry of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in San Miguel. Prior to that she was on the Airport Advisory Board in McAllen, TX and on the boards of the McAllen Performing Arts, Leadership McAllen, and the South Texas Heart Association.

Her hobby is collecting Folk Art from around the world and traveling with her husband who is learning how to shop. She feels that service is a dying art and something she believes makes the difference between a good agent and a great agent. She also feels the more informed her buyers and sellers are the more satisfied they are with their transactions.
