Tom was born and raised outside of Syracuse in Central New York. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Government, he moved, with his wife Wendy, to Long Island where he worked in Manhattan for 20 years in underwriting and marketing for several reinsurance companies. In 1989, he and Wendy moved to Kiawah Island, where they have resided ever since.

Having worked in the Charleston real estate market since 1990, Tom is very familiar with the Charleston market, in general, and the Kiawah, Seabrook, Johns and Wadmalaw Islands area, in particular. Tom is a good listener and strives to find the perfect property based upon his buyer’s life style and interests. For sellers he informs them of the proper pricing and works within the Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals team to market each property appropriately. As a buyer or a seller, Tom always has his client’s best interests in mind.

Tom and Wendy both believe in giving back to the community. Wendy, a retired law firm administrator, is a former director and president of the Kiawah Property Owners Group (KPOG), a former member of several Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA) committees, a former member of the Town of Kiawah Island (TOKI) Board of Zoning Appeals, and is currently an active volunteer at Mt. Zion Elementary School on Johns Island and Pet Helpers, no kill animal shelter, on James Island. Tom has served on several TOKI commissions and was a TOKI code enforcement officer as well as the town’s Chief Code Enforcement Officer for several years. He currently serves on the KICA Safety and Security Committee and has served as a Commissioner on the St. Johns Fired District Commission since 2001.

Let Tom help you become a part of the community!
